Founded in 1991, Stephen Pevner Inc. began as an Independent Literary Agency.  Early works include producing the original production of Eve Ensler’s The Vagina Monologues and Neil LaBute’s first feature film, In the Company of Men.  Next, Mr. Pevner executive produced LaBute’s follow-up films Your Friends and Neighbors, Nurse Betty, and Possession.  In 1999, Mr. Pevner introduced theatre audiences to LaBute as lead producer of Bash (Off-Broadway).  Next, in 2003, came the Off-Broadway smash Matt & Ben which went on to LA, Chicago, and eventually toured across the United States.  In 2006, Mr. Pevner produced the New York City concert debut of Jennifer Hudson and followed this up two years later with the American debut of Irish chanteuse Róisín Murphy.  This was followed by Schwarzwald: The Movie You Can Dance To, a much-celebrated experimental film.  In 2011, Pevner split his time between producing Caligula Maximus – a new musical disco circus and executive producing The Ides of March, an adaptation of Beau Willimon’s play Farragut North, for which Pevner had originally commissioned.
